Last night we had our Ugandan New Year’s celebration. It seemed like it was going to be a fairly mellow night. We watched a slide show of some pictures from the trip so far and had a few beers. After we counted down and cheered, we sat down and started talking about going to bed. About 30 seconds later, 8 people ran into the living room yelling a special African yell that is hard to explain but it is used when they’re happy. They rushed in and gave us all hugs and danced around. Then we heard drums outside the living room window. We went outside and found two drummers and a crowd of people dancing in the yard. We figured the best thing to do was join in so we started yelling and dancing too. We had a blast dancing and trying to sing along with some of their songs. A good time was had by all. 🙂
Here’s to another wonderful year!!
